At Baker Hughes, our Controllership function is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, compliance and transparency across the organization. We act as guardians of financial integrity, supporting robust reporting, strong internal controls and adherence to global accounting standards.

As a Finance Experienced Professional – Controllership, you will be supporting global operations and ensuring the accuracy, completeness and compliance of financial reporting. You will drive rigor in technical accounting, strengthen internal controls and support our Flexible Pipe Systems (FPS) global teams across Brazil, the UK and the US, as well as local SSPS (Subsea and Surface Pressure Systems) operations.

As a Finance Experienced Professional, you will be responsible for:

Controllership, Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Supporting compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), US GAAP, local accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Ensuring effectiveness of financial internal controls and supporting remediation of any identified gaps.
  • Contributing to a strong controllership environment, reinforcing governance and accountability.
  • Supporting internal and external audits, including documentation and follow-ups.

Accounting Operations & Financial Integrity

  • Supporting balance sheet reviews including reconciliations and quarter-end close activities.
  • Ensuring accuracy, completeness and reliability of financial records.
  • Monitoring open items and supporting timely resolution.
  • Contributing to financial reporting integrity and variance analysis.

Risk Monitoring & Issue Resolution

  • Identifying and assessing financial and operational risks.
  • Working with teams to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
  • Providing visibility on control effectiveness and exposures.

Global Controllership Support & Process Improvement

  • Collaborating with global teams to ensure high-quality and standardized processes.
  • Driving process simplification and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting alignment across regions to maintain accounting consistency.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in Controllership, Financial Reporting, Audit or Accounting Operations.
  • Have strong knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls and financial reporting processes.
  • Have experience supporting audits and compliance frameworks such as SOX.
  • Have advanced to fluent English communication skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA or similar.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy or Infrastructure industries.
  • Background in audit or consulting.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in global and cross-functional environments.
