Our client is a leading figure in the Multimedia Production Industry, renowned for delivering rich, insightful content that shapes and celebrates the essence of Nigerian /African fashion, music, and entertainment, both locally and globally. They are looking to hire a Finance Executive. Role Overview The Finance Executive leads the financial management of the company and provides the CEO with accurate, timely and commercially useful information for decision-making. The role owns financial planning, reporting, cash-flow management, controls, compliance and audit readiness across the Group and its projects. This is a strategic and hands-on role. The Finance executive will strengthen systems and processes, protect the Group's assets, improve visibility of business and project performance and ensure that day-to-day finance operations are completed accurately and on time. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between executive-level analysis and detailed financial execution in a fast-paced media and creative environment. Accountability: The Finance Executive operates independently within approved policies, budgets and delegated authority. Material unbudgeted expenditure, borrowing, investment decisions, changes to bank mandates, major contractual commitments and significant accounting or compliance matters require the CEO's approval. Job Responsibilities: A. Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance 1. Financial Strategy and CEO Support Advise the CEO on financial performance, business risks, funding requirements, cost optimisation and opportunities for sustainable growth. Translate the Group's strategy into financial plans, targets, controls and actionable performance insights. Prepare financial models, scenario analyses and recommendations for investments, partnerships, pricing, projects and other commercial decisions. 2. Budgeting, Forecasting and Business Planning Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts for the Group, business units and major projects. Partner with department and project leads to develop realistic revenue, cost, staffing and cash-flow assumptions. Monitor actual performance against budget, explain material variances and drive timely corrective action. 3. Management Reporting and Commercial Analysis Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts, dashboards and CEO reports within agreed timelines. Analyse revenue, gross margin, operating costs, profitability, working capital and cash conversion across business units and projects. Develop clear project and client profitability reporting to support pricing, resource allocation and portfolio decisions. B. Financial Operations, Treasury & Controls 4. Accounting, Close and Financial Records Oversee the general ledger, chart of accounts, journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure all income, expenditure and balance-sheet transactions are properly authorised, recorded, supported and classified. Review bank, receivables, payables, payroll and other key account reconciliations and resolve exceptions promptly. 5. Cash Flow, Treasury and Banking Maintain reliable short- and medium-term cash-flow forecasts and ensure adequate liquidity for payroll, vendors, taxes and operations. Manage banking relationships, payment platforms, mandates and authorised transactions in line with approved controls. Recommend appropriate working-capital, funding and cash-management actions to the CEO. 6. Revenue, Receivables, Payables and Project Finance Ensure timely client invoicing, revenue recognition, receivables follow-up and escalation of overdue balances. Oversee supplier onboarding, invoice validation, payment scheduling and vendor reconciliations in accordance with contracts and approval limits. Track project budgets, commitments, production advances, recoverable expenses and final cost reports, promptly highlighting overruns or margin risks. 7. Payroll Finance, Controls and Risk Review payroll calculations, approved changes, deductions and payment schedules in collaboration with HR, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Maintain and continuously improve finance policies, approval workflows, segregation of duties and fraud-prevention controls. Maintain the financial risk register and ensure complete supporting documentation for transactions and management decisions. C. Tax, Pension, Audit & Finance Systems 8. Tax, Pension and Statutory Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian federal and state tax laws and regulations, including corporate income tax, value added tax, withholding tax and PAYE requirements. Oversee accurate and timely pension deductions and remittances, as well as other statutory obligations and filings, including NSITF, ITF and CAC requirements where applicable. Coordinate with tax advisers and relevant authorities, maintain complete compliance records and prevent avoidable penalties or exposures. 9. Audit and Financial Statements Lead annual external audits and support any internal, tax or regulatory reviews, ensuring schedules and evidence are complete and submitted on time. Coordinate the preparation and review of annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements. Own the remediation of audit findings and strengthen controls to prevent repeat issues. 10. Finance Systems, Data and Process Improvement Serve as the functional owner of Primus, Zoho Books and other approved finance tools, ensuring correct configuration, disciplined use and data integrity. Improve automation, reporting, document management and integration across accounting, banking, payroll, expenses and project workflows. Train finance colleagues and relevant budget owners on financial processes, controls and system use. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline. Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA or an equivalent recognised accounting qualification is strongly preferred; an MBA or relevant master's degree is an advantage. Eight to ten years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least three years in a finance management, team-lead or senior financial-control role. Proven experience across financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, tax, pension compliance, audit and internal controls in Nigeria. Experience in media, entertainment, advertising, production, technology or another project-based and fast-growing organisation is an advantage. KPI Accurate monthly management accounts and CEO reporting issued within five working days of month-end. Reliable budgets and forecasts, with material variances identified, explained and addressed promptly. Strong cash visibility, adequate liquidity and disciplined working-capital management. Improved receivables collection, controlled aged debt and timely vendor payments within approved terms. Complete reconciliations and financial records, with no material unexplained balances or unsupported transactions. All tax, pension and other statutory returns and remittances completed on time, with no avoidable penalties. Annual audit and financial statements completed to schedule, with minimal repeat findings. Timely and accurate project profitability reporting, with early escalation of overruns and margin risks. High data accuracy and consistent adoption of Primus, Zoho Books and approved finance processes. Technical Competencies Strong command of financial accounting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management and financial modelling. Sound practical knowledge of Nigerian tax, pension and other statutory compliance requirements. Demonstrable experience managing external audits, financial statements, reconciliations and internal controls. Hands-on proficiency in Primus and Zoho Books, including reporting, reconciliations and maintaining data quality. Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills; familiarity with banking platforms, payroll systems, expense tools, tax portals, dashboards and other accounting or ERP tools. Ability to interpret commercial contracts, identify financial implications and communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholder
