Job Description

Role Title: Finance Director, Asia

Role location: Singapore Based

How will I help?

The role is a key management role supporting the CFO International and Regional Head, Asia. It is responsible for the management of financial and regulatory reporting for WBC Singapore Branch and supporting the ongoing growth of the branch. The role requires a focus on continuous improvement to lead and manage implementation of new systems and proactively identify and implement changes to sustain and uplift the quality and efficiency of regulatory reporting and financial control.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of MAS returns and internal regulatory compliance monitoring
  • Responsible for the annual statutory audit and submission of annual statutory financial statements
  • Provide strategic and operational support to the Regional Head, Asia and their Leadership Team as required
  • Oversee timely and incisive management reporting and strategic support to help drive growth
  • People management and mentoring a team of diverse academic/professional backgrounds
  • Review new products and advise on accounting and regulatory reporting implications
  • Review existing and new regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and proactively advise business units of any potential implications
  • Ensure the smooth running of other ancillary functions, including accounts payable

What do I need?

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accountancy
  • 10+ years’ experience with leading financial institution
  • Strong financial and MAS regulatory reporting experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Independent thinker, self-starter, growth mindset
