You role at Husqvarna

  • Lead and develop the UK finance teams supporting our commercial divisions and Newton Aycliffe factory.
  • Take full responsibility for UK financial accounting, treasury and taxation.
  • Own the accurate and timely delivery of monthly financial reporting to Group headquarters in Sweden.
  • Lead the preparation of year-end accounts and manage the external audit process through to completion of the statutory accounts.
  • Act as a trusted commercial finance partner to the UK Leadership Team, working particularly closely with Sales to provide insight, constructive challenge and financial direction.
  • Manage relationships with external advisers, including the Group’s UK tax and audit providers.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and controls.
  • Oversee the Group’s UK tax structure across principal, distribution and manufacturing arrangements, including domestic and international transfer-pricing implications.
  • Manage legal-entity equity and financing requirements, treasury matters and dividend-distribution policy.
  • Ensure effective financial oversight of import and export requirements, including customs arrangements arising from Brexit.
  • Build a positive and accountable finance culture through visible leadership, coaching, succession planning and capability development.
  • The position also carries several important specialist responsibilities. You will:
  • Maintain the Financial Conduct Authority SMF29 approval required for UK leasing activities through Husqvarna Commercial Solutions (HCS).
  • Lead the project to launch HCS in the UK.
  • Serve as a Company Appointed Trustee of the HULPS Defined Benefits Pension Scheme.

Additional Skills/Qualifications Required

You will be an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant with strong technical expertise and substantial leadership level experience. Training in practice would be advantageous.

Commercial finance experience is essential. You will have a strong record of partnering with Sales and senior leadership teams, translating financial information into practical insight and providing confident, well-judged challenge.

You will also bring:

  • Experience within a manufacturing or commercial organisation of comparable scale.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with evidence of developing teams, building capability and creating a positive, accountable culture.
  • The presence, autonomy and judgement needed to operate effectively in a senior and wide ranging role.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong financial, analytical, commercial and systems capability.
  • A collaborative style, combined with the confidence to form and communicate a clear point of view.
  • The ability to improve processes and ways of working through thoughtful, sustainable change.

Experience of organisational change, pension trusteeship, UK tax and treasury, transfer pricing, customs, statutory reporting or regulated financial activities would be beneficial.

Knowledge of JD Edwards would be an advantage, although experience with another major enterprise system, such as SAP, is equally relevant.
