Job Description
As Director of Finance, and under the primary supervision of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you play a key strategic role within the management team. As a true business partner, you actively contribute to the organization's financial performance, while ensuring effective risk management and internal controls. You oversee financial operations, support your teams and implement strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure compliance of accounting information with ASPE and NPO standards, while ensuring compliance with financial reporting deadlines and requirements;
• Produce forecasted, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports that promote proactive and informed management;
• Present financial results and strategic plans to the Board of Directors and committees, ensuring transparency of information;
• Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant financial, legal and regulatory obligations;
• Lead and supervise the financial and accounting operations of the organization;
• Define clear objectives and mobilize teams in a spirit of continuous improvement;
• Train and develop financial talent, while ensuring a succession plan;
• Manage the annual budget process in collaboration with the various departments;
• Identify the financial impacts of business objectives and propose alternative solutions to ensure that they are achieved;
• Maintain collaborative relationships with the Board of Directors and internal and external stakeholders;
• Ensure the financial management of several legal entities, ensuring the rigour and compliance of accounting practices for each of them;
• Navigate a dual authority structure, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Executive Director, ensuring smooth communication and strategic alignment with both stakeholders;
• Manage interactions and relationships with LCI Education and corporate services, playing a strategic liaison role between the local entity and the group.
This role involves frequent interactions with internal and external customers and partners on a national and global scale. Professional proficiency in English is therefore a requirement for this role.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, finance or related field;
• CPA designation required;
• Significant experience in financial management in a national context;
• Proven experience in managing teams and improving financial processes;
• Proficiency in ASPE and NPO standards (an asset);
• Fluency in French (oral and written);
• Proficiency in English at a professional level (oral and written).
