Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Leadership & Governance
- Oversee all finance-related matters across the business
- Sign off monthly accounts and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, and Group policies
- Act as a Board Member registered at Companies House
2. Financial Planning & Performance Management
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Track cash flow and ensure strong liquidity management
- Analyse financial performance, identifying strengths, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Define, monitor, and drive financial KPIs across the business
3. Strategic Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on all finance-related matters
- Support the CEO in reporting to Group Management
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and business direction
- Contribute to monthly Board/Director meetings and lead financial discussions
4. Growth, M&A and Business Development
- Lead financial aspects of growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions
- Support strategic expansion, integration, and value creation opportunities
- Assist with preparation of tenders and large project submissions
- Evaluate investment opportunities and support decision-making
5. Capex & Investment Management
- Support the CEO in Capex planning and budget allocation
- Lead the preparation and submission of large Capex projects
- Ensure robust financial evaluation and post-investment monitoring
6. Reporting & Data Analysis
- Produce high-quality financial reporting and analysis
- Drive data-based decision-making across the organization
- Improve reporting tools, processes, and insights
7. Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, manage, and develop the finance team
- Ensure clear roles, responsibilities, and performance standards
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
8. Operational Support & Business Transformation
- Define, maintain, and continuously improve the finance procedures framework to ensure standardization, compliance, efficiency, and scalability across entities in accordance with Group guidelines.
- Support ERP implementation and enhancement projects, ensuring alignment with business requirements, timelines, and budget objectives.
Profile & Experience
- Proven experience as CFO or senior finance leader, ideally in industrial, recycling, or manufacturing environments
- Strong experience in financial planning, reporting, and compliance
- Demonstrated experience in growth, M&A, or transformation environments
- Solid knowledge of UK regulatory and corporate governance requirements
- Experience operating in international and matrix organizations
