Job Description

Main Purpose

Serve as the embedded business-facing BI, business analysis and automation partner for Finance across the Africa region and GCC. The role owns performance measurement and steady-state automation, translates central digitization initiatives into locally embedded self-service tools, and works directly with regional and country Finance teams to define requirements and solve live business problems. It ensures KPI definitions remain aligned with global standards while providing timely, reliable insight. This is a regional build-and-run role focused on BI, analytics and Finance process automation rather than data infrastructure ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements

  • Work directly with regional Finance leadership, country teams and functional stakeholders to identify business needs, define requirements and translate them into practical analytics and automation solutions.
  • Clarify what is required before development begins, reducing delays caused by incomplete or unclear specifications and iterating quickly as business needs evolve.

Automation & Steady-State Ownership

  • Take ownership of Finance process automations across Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Controlling, FP&A and other Finance areas once initiatives transition from central digitization into business-as-usual.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and incrementally improve these automations without requiring central digitization involvement for routine changes.

BI & Dashboarding

  • Build and maintain BI dashboards end-to-end, including design, development, testing and iteration against live business questions rather than static specifications.
  • Continuously refine dashboards as reporting and decision-support needs evolve, rather than treating them as one-off deliverables.

Self-Service Analytics Adoption

  • Drive adoption of self-service analytics tools across Finance and relevant business stakeholders.
  • Reduce dependency on manual and ad hoc reporting requests by developing reusable, intuitive and well-governed tools.

Partnership & Escalation

  • Partner with central digitization teams on data engineering, security and architecture matters.
  • Escalate complex technical needs, including data-pipeline issues, architecture decisions and security requirements. The role owns regional build-and-run delivery but does not independently build or manage data infrastructure.

Governance

  • Ensure KPI and data definitions remain aligned with global standards while enabling fast, locally relevant solutions.
  • Act as the regional point of contact for Finance data-definition queries and disputes, coordinating resolution with relevant global and regional stakeholders.

Requirements

Technical

  • Strong hands-on capability in Tableau and/or Sigma, including dashboard development, data modelling, calculated fields and performance optimization.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to query and shape data directly rather than relying only on prepared extracts.
  • Working knowledge of data architecture for informed discussions with central digitization and data-engineering teams; this role does not build pipelines.

Finance

  • Working knowledge of core Finance processes, including Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Controlling and FP&A, sufficient to assess what a KPI should measure and identify likely sources of data-quality issues.
  • Prior exposure to Finance operations, shared services and/or FP&A environments is preferred.

Experience & Capabilities

  • Typically 5-7 years of relevant experience in BI, analytics engineering, Finance automation or business analysis, with evidence of dashboards or tools used in operational and management decision-making.
  • Exposure to Databricks or a comparable modern data platform is an advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively between central digitization, regional Finance leadership and country teams.
  • A bias toward iterative delivery, with the ability to work effectively with ambiguous and evolving requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while embedded in a business team, rather than operating only through a central delivery queue.
  • Experience in a multi-country or regional matrix organisation is an advantage.
  • A relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems or a related field is preferred.
