Nu is one of the largest digital financial platforms in the world, with more than 122 million customers across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia. Guided by our mission to fight complexity and empower people, we are redefining financial services in Latin America and this is still just the beginning of the purple future we're building.

Listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: NU), we combine proprietary technology, data intelligence, and an efficient operating model to deliver financial products that are simple, accessible, and human.

Our impact has been recognized by global rankings such as Time 100 Companies, Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies, and Forbes World’s Best Bank. Visit our institutional page https://international.nubank.com.br/careers/

Our Finance Data Team

Our purpose is to scale Nubank’s financial infrastructure by blending deep product knowledge with cutting-edge data engineering. We sit at the intersection of Finance and Technology, ensuring our regulatory obligations are met with precision while proactively building the "Finance of the Future." Our goal is to eliminate manual toil through automation and leverage AI to make financial insights instantaneous and actionable.

You will be responsible for

  • Regulatory Reporting: Lead end-to-end delivery of complex regulatory reports, independently interpreting regulatory requirements, guiding compliance alignment across teams, and preparing for audit processes with high precision.
  • Data Pipeline Engineering: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that transform raw product data into high-integrity financial datasets, diagnosing complex data anomalies and proposing tailored improvements.
  • Process Automation & AI Implementation: Independently build or guide the team in building AI and low-code/no-code automations. Evaluate AI initiatives based on return, effort, and risk, and make high-stakes decisions on AI appropriateness and safe usage patterns.
  • Product Deep-Dives: Develop a profound understanding of our financial products (Credit Cards, Accounts, Loans) to ensure data reflects the true economic reality of the business, contributing inputs to long-term platform strategy.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Lead projects with defined scope and clear objectives. Contribute to cross-functional discussions, influence direction within the team, and provide guidance and support to more junior members.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Independently manage discussions with a range of stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Risk, and Finance — bringing new ideas and driving the team toward innovative and efficient solutions.

We are looking for a person who has

  • Financial Expertise: Experienced level in financial analysis, accounting, compliance, and controls.
  • Technical Stack: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Scala. Experienced in data analysis, visualization, and building insightful dashboards tailored to different stakeholder needs. Familiarity with data orchestration tools.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze expanded and sometimes ambiguous problems with autonomy, uncover root causes, independently evaluate trade-offs, and develop effective solutions for moderately complex scenarios.
  • AI Fluency: Ability to independently select appropriate tools or AI models for complex tasks, mentor peers in effective usage, and systematically evaluate AI initiatives while ensuring safe and compliant practices.
  • Automation Mindset: Proven experience identifying manual bottlenecks and building automated workflows. Able to lead automation initiatives and delegate implementation tasks to other analysts.
  • Communication: Communicates ideas clearly and logically to diverse audiences, adapting style and level of detail based on context — bridging technical engineering teams and non-technical finance stakeholders.
  • Emerging Leadership: Demonstrates initiative and the ability to influence others within the team. Takes ownership of projects and contributes to knowledge sharing and Function-level initiatives.
  • Language: Advanced English; Spanish is a beneficial addition.
