Our client, a well established financial services company within a major Jamaican corporate group, provides financing solutions to individuals and businesses for the acquisition of motor vehicles and industrial equipment.
They are seeking a dynamic, analytical and results oriented professional to join their team as a Finance Credit Officer
This role requires strong capability in credit analysis, loan adjudication processes, business development and relationship management. The successful candidate must possess a strong customer focus combined with sound financial assessment skills.
Finance Officer
• Conduct interviews with loan applicants to gather relevant financial and credit information.
• Review credit histories, financial statements, references and supporting documentation to assess loan eligibility.
• Analyze applicants’ financial status to determine creditworthiness and identify potential risks.
• Evaluate commercial and consumer loan applications and prepare recommendations for credit approval.
• Prepare and submit loan proposals for review by the adjudication body.
• Assist in preparing loan documentation outlining terms, conditions and repayment schedules.
• Explain loan options and financing terms to customers based on their financial profiles.
• Respond to customer queries regarding loan balances, penalties and credit standing.
• Review loan agreements to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Maintain strict adherence to the company’s credit policy and lending guidelines.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and business partners.
• Conduct customer visits when necessary to support relationship management and risk mitigation.
• Monitor the performance of existing loans and assist with delinquency management.
• Remain informed about competing financial products and market trends to better serve customers.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Banking and Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of three years of experience in credit analysis, lending, or financial services.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel capability.
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills including financial ratio analysis.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Competence in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
