Finance Controller

Responsible to lead the finance function for our Mexicali operations site adhering to local legislation and group accounting standards by preparing financial and performance reports to local management while working closely with our US and HQ headquarters finance department. The person on this role is a member of the local senior leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all finance and accounting operations for the Mexicali manufacturing site, including cost accounting, financial reporting, and monthly/yearly close activities.
  • Manage site budgeting and forecasting processes, including manufacturing variances, period costs, inventory, capital expenditures, and overall financial performance planning.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, banking activities, accounts payable/receivable, credit and collections, working capital analysis, and cash management operations.
  • Coordinate external financial resources and activities, including audits, tax reporting, banking relationships, and support for IT, HR, and risk management initiatives when needed.
  • Lead annual inventory counts and reconciliation processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with local legislation, group accounting standards, and corporate procedures.
  • Drive cost reduction and operational efficiency initiatives while providing KPI analysis and cross-functional financial support to achieve local and global business objectives.

More about you:

  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification required; MBA preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical thinking, financial management, and process optimization capabilities.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, inventory reconciliation, and financial close processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Advanced English proficiency (90% or higher).
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills with ERP system experience preferred.
