Join us in leading high-impact Finance Change initiatives that shape the future of our business. We're looking for a delivery leader with a proven track record of managing complex transformation programmes, building strong stakeholder relationships, and driving successful business outcomes. Experience delivering technology-enabled change is essential, with exposure to actuarial environments or actuarial model releases highly desirable.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of strategic projects, work with senior leaders, and make a visible impact across the organisation.

Who are we?

We’re Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income. We champion the belief that everyone’s journey to and through retirement can be better, and for more than 200 years, we’ve been helping our customers plan and prepare for their financial futures.

Life today is increasingly complicated, uncertain and unpredictable. People move through different careers, face unexpected moments and navigate important choices. We offer our colleagues flexibility, trust and benefits that work for whatever life brings. In return we expect curiosity, connection, accountability and high standards. We make room for what matters - so you can bring your best, every day.

The Role:

  • You will be an influential delivery leader, building strong, trusted relationships and energising teams to deliver high‑impact Finance Change initiatives end‑to‑end.
  • You will bring proven experience delivering complex Finance Change, with a strong track record in business and operational readiness. Experience supporting actuarial model releases or working in actuarial-led environments is highly desirable.
  • You will take full ownership for the definition, planning and delivery of technically complex, strategic projects, developing clear, credible plans and proactively securing the resources required to deliver against agreed objectives and timelines.
  • Experience delivering technology and software-driven change across the full Software Development Lifecycle is highly desirable.
  • You will set and uphold high governance standards, ensuring delivery remains controlled, compliant and transparent.
  • You will maintain high-quality, decision‑focused documentation, including plans, RAID logs, actions, decisions, change controls and governance reporting, to support effective delivery and audit readiness.
  • You will be comfortable operating in highly complex, fast-paced and ambiguous environments, confidently balancing competing priorities across senior stakeholder groups.
  • You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, including effective management of third-party suppliers, fostering a collaborative, outcome-focused delivery culture.
  • You will manage budgets and resources with discipline, operating in a cost‑constrained environment and making clear, timely decisions on prioritisation and resource allocation, with accountability for financial performance.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience delivering complex projects within Financial Services, with successful end-to-end project delivery.
  • Strong background in Finance Change, Actuarial Change, Regulatory Change, or large-scale business transformation.
  • Recognised Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM, APM PMQ).
  • Expertise in project governance, planning, risk and dependency management, budget control, and reporting.
  • Experience working in complex matrix environments, influencing senior stakeholders and driving change adoption.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of actuarial model change, capital management, financial reporting, or Finance Transformation is advantageous.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.

We’re reviewing applications as they come in, so apply early to avoid missing out.
