Job Description

In this role, you will act as the primary finance partner to the Syntegon Group VP IT and supports the broader IT leadership team with financial leadership, business insight, and data-driven decision support. The role will act as a trusted finance partner to the Syntegon Group VP IT and the broader IT leadership team and collaborate closely with HR, Procurement, Service, Sales excellence and each Business Unit to align assumptions, challenge decisions, resolve data and process issues, and drive agreed actions.

The role reports directly to the Group VP FP&A, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Syntegon Group VP IT.

Your responsibilities include:

• The role will own and continuously improve the IT controlling framework, including cost-center structures, allocation logic, planning processes, reporting standards, data quality, and process automation.
• The role will provide financial oversight for IT projects and investments, including business-case support, budget and forecast tracking, variance analysis, capitalization considerations, benefits realization, and regular performance reporting.
• The role will lead the IT budget and forecasting cycles, translate operational and strategic assumptions into financial plans, identify risks and opportunities, and support the Syntegon Group VP IT and the broader IT leadership team in prioritizing resources and delivering efficiency targets.
• The role will deliver recurring and ad hoc analyses using Power BI, SAP BW, and other relevant tools, converting financial and operational data into actionable insights on cost drivers, trends, risks, opportunities, and value delivery.
• The role will lead the monthly IT performance review, explain actual versus budget and forecast variances, maintain a clear outlook on full-year performance, and agree corrective actions with the Syntegon Group VP IT.

The role owns IT planning, forecasting, performance reporting, and project controlling, providing transparency on costs, investments, and value delivery. It challenges and supports IT leadership in prioritizing resources, improving cost efficiency, and translating technology initiatives into measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline; a professional finance qualification is an advantage.
• Several years of relevant experience in FP&A, controlling, or finance business partnering, ideally supporting IT, digital, or shared-service functions in an international organization.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, project and investment controlling, business-case evaluation, and benefits tracking.
• Advanced analytical capabilities and hands-on experience with SAP, SAP BW, Power BI, and Excel; experience improving data structures, reporting processes, or finance automation is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear insights, recommendations, and actions for senior stakeholders.
• Strong business-partnering and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively, align cross-functional stakeholders, and drive decisions to completion.
• Fluent English and Spanish is required; German or another European language is an advantage.
