Role Purpose

  • Financial Partnership Collaborate with the Director of Maintenance and Engineering, Director of IT & Digital, and Director People and respective Leadership teams to enhance financial awareness among teams, ensuring informed decision-making. Develop a deep understanding of engineering operations, objectives, challenges, and key drivers to inform business performance discussions.
  • Financial Reporting Ensure accurate preparation and compliance of financial reports with accounting principles, group policies, and statutory requirements. Ensure timely accrual of the cost and expenses in various business units.
  • Process Enhancements Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the team.
  • Performance Review Partner with the Director of Maintenance and Engineering/IT & Digital/PPL to set up and coordinate the Department’s Business Performance Review and associated KPIs. Facilitate the Business Units to complete the senior leadership business review meetings.
  • Decision support Provide monthly business performance analysis and trends to support management decisions. Provide necessary business insights to the BU leaders to enable the team to make best decisions.
  • Business Investment Support Assist in developing business cases for project investments, including IRR/NPV analysis and evaluating financial implications and project risks.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting Prepare and manage the annual budget, monthly forecasts, and a 10-year financial plan (including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow).
  • Risk management Take the lead in preparing for interim and annual audits for engineering accounts. Uphold and enhance financial control measures within the Engineering/IT/PPL department.
  • Digitalisation Provide support for ad hoc projects as assigned, including digital transformation, resolving accounting and engineering system integration issues, and assessing the financial risks and benefits of engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Degree holder preferably in Business/Finance/Economics/Accounting or relevant discipline
  • Qualified accountant with CPA/ACCA/CA title or equivalent
  • At least 8 years of working experience.
  • Deep working knowledge of/experience with key financial tools such as NPV, ROCE, cash flow, activity-based costing, accounting fundamentals, etc.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English, with strong presentation and influencing skills applicable to all levels within the organization.
  • Self-starter, willing to take the initiative and accept responsibility; able to work independently, analyse complex data and summarize in a concise manner, providing meaningful business recommendations.
  • Experience with Big Four firms or an aviation engineering background is preferred, though not required.
