Brown & Brown is seeking an Accounting Leader to join our growing team in Lafayette, LA!
The Accounting & Operations Leader primary responsibilities include accounting and financial reporting for the profit center. This person also oversees the day-to-day operations of the entire office.
How You Will Contribute:
Prepares financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and/or reports required by the corporate office.
Coordinates and direct preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
Analyzes financial details to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
Reviews and monitor monthly activity, data integrity, and financial accuracy.
Partners with Department Team Leads, Profit Center Leaders, and Senior Business Partners through FP&A and strategic planning.
Responsible for financial planning and analysis to identify trends and develop forward looking strategies.
Prepares annual budgets and quarterly forecasts by working with Team Leads and PCL to identify drivers and create yearly goals.
Prepares Ad hoc and monthly financial reporting.
Mentors and trains Finance & Operations Specialists and Senior Finance & Operations Specialists.
Assists Senior Finance Business Partners in leading the finance team.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Exceptional telephone demeanor
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
5 years’ experience in a similar position
Ability to travel 10-20% of the time; Travel may include but not limited to B&B offices and attending B&B training and events.
Master’s degree in a business or financial related discipline (preferred)
