The ideal candidate will bring strong experience working in a regulatory environment, with an understanding of how legislative and policy settings influence financial planning, reporting and decision-making. You’ll be comfortable supporting fee-funded and cost recovery activities, ensuring pricing and funding approaches are robust, transparent and aligned to relevant frameworks.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public service.

The purpose of our group, through demonstrating sound commercial acumen, is to provide business planning, financial, investment, and assurance services for NZTA Waka Kotahi and the land transport sector. Our finance function enables NZTA to deliver its strategic and operational financial objectives and obligations. The Business Partnering team provides strategic financial analysis and advice to enable business groups to deliver their services efficiently and effectively.
