The Organization for Innovation in Public Health (OIPH, PATH’s local affiliate in Nigeria) isseeking a Finance Associate based inAbuja,Nigeriatosupport the finance function oftheCountry programoffice.This role will report to the Finance ManagerNigeriaCountry Program.Therole will supportAccounts Payable management,accountingcompliance,Reconciliations,financialdata validation,stafffinancialtrainingandprojects support.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all Accounts Payables are treated in line withPATH policy and project guidelines

  • Liaise with project teams to ensuretimelyandaccurateclosureof project payment requests.

  • Check andvalidatepayment requests and invoicesensuringappropriate supportingdocumentation for audit trail

  • Performaccuratedata entry in the ERPin accordance withGAAP and PATH policy

  • Prepare paymentsand ensureaccuratebankingentries

  • Perform assigned bank rolesin alignment with PATH policy.

  • Ensure financial transactions are recorded in line with PATH policy

  • Reconcile allsuppliers’statementswithERPledger balance records andcloseany discrepancies

  • Review and approvestaff travelexpenditure reports and reconciliation

  • Perform monthly reconciliation oftheAccounts Payable ledger

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliationsincluding Mobile moneytransactions

  • Perform month end tasks as per schedule of responsibilities provided by the Finance Manager.

  • Support in audit includingpreparing audit schedules and retrievalof documents

  • Support staff trainingonaccounting and finance manuals/policy

  • Provide ad hoc trainingtoproject teams on financial requirements.

  • Liaise closely with theAbujaofficeFinanceofficer

Required Skills &Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field

  • Professional accountancy qualification (Certified Public Accountants - CPA, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants - ACCA, or equivalent membership of a recognized professional accountancy organization in good standing).

  • A minimum of 5 years of experienceina busyNGOfinance department.Experience with USAID funded projects will be an added advantage.

  • Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software.Hands onexperience in Business World software will be an added advantage.

  • Ability to work effectively withprojectteams

  • Excellent interpersonalandcommunication skills.

  • Professional level of oral and written fluency in English.

  • Must have legal authorization to work inNigeria
