Finance Associate
Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The Finance Associate is normally supervised by a more senior finance colleague who defines general work objectives and provides necessary advice and guidance. The incumbent also refers to UNHCR Manuals and relevant policy papers on financial issues.
The incumbent assists with the processing of financial transactions. S/he keeps frequent contact with staff at various levels in the office and with bank officials to exchange information. The incumbent may supervise some support staff.

This is a national position offered under a Fixed-term contract for an initial period of 1 year. Candidates applying to the position must be nationals of the Dominican Republic or Non-Dominicans should already reside in the country at the time of application with a valid work and residency permits which is required to be attached to the application. Candidates must comply with all eligibility requirements for employment in line with the prevailing legislative prerequisites in the country.

The selected candidate will be based at the UNHCR office in the Dominican Republic and will be responsible for ensuring that all financial activities are conducted in full compliance with UNHCR administrative instructions, policies, and UN regulations. The incumbent will provide comprehensive support across a broad range of operational functions, including finance, general administration, contract management, budgeting, travel coordination, and fleet management. Additionally, the role will involve contributing to other related tasks in line with established responsibilities and organizational priorities.
