Finance Intern

Mitsubishi Power Americas is hiring an Finance Intern to support the Power Generaton Services finance team in the Orlando Service Center location. The Finance Intern responsibilities include maintaining, analyzing, and reporting key performance measures to business unit management. This internship position is limited to 28 hours per week during the school year and is designed for candidates who will be enrolled in classes concurrent to their work experience. The ideal candidate will have a graduation date of May 2027 or later and be able to work 20-28 hours per week year-round. During breaks from classes, the candidate is able to work up to 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership.
  • Margin erosion analysis.
  • Preparation of cost & revenue analysis.
  • Participate in internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
  • Review account reconciliations.
  • Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash flow analysis.
  • Assist in the development of forecasts.
  • Support management review of financial statements with management personnel.
  • Various ad hoc analysis and special projects as required.
  • This role is hybrid.
  • Max hours 28 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Requirements

  • Education: Must be currently enrolled in a four-year college or university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance with a graduation date of May 2027 or later.
  • Communication: Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and technical documents; write professional reports and manuals; and present information effectively to various audiences.
  • Quantitative/Reasoning: Proficiency in basic algebra and geometry, with the ability to calculate figures (e.g., percentages, interest) and solve practical problems based on written or oral instructions.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with ERP systems and standard office software, including accounting, database, project management, spreadsheet, word processing, and email applications.
