Job Description

We are working closely with a local authority in Somerset to assist with the appointment of a Finance Assistant,on a 3- months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £13.05- £17.24 per hour



The Finance Assistant provides high-quality financial and administrative support to the Finance & Procurement Directorate, with a particular focus on supporting the Children's Service. The role is responsible for accurate and timely transactional finance activities, including raising and managing purchase orders, processing and resolving invoice queries, maintaining financial records and supporting users of the Council's financial management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the processing and administration of invoices and other financial transactions.
  • Assist with basic analysis of financial information and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions for further investigation.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with Council policies and procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate financial controls are followed when processing transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Good general standard of education, including GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Mathematics.

Essentials:

  • Experience of maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Experience of using financial, accounting, purchasing or data management systems.
  • Experience of investigating and resolving routine financial or invoice queries.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
