We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join us and become part of our hard working and friendly finance department. The hours are to be worked on a Thursday and Friday, for 38 weeks per year (term time only), timings are to be negotiated.

Copleston High School is a popular 11-18 mixed comprehensive noted for its caring and disciplined atmosphere. It was judged as a ‘good school with outstanding features’ by Ofsted in December 2023. As a school we are committed to raising standards of learning.

You will be responsible for managing school orders, dealing with finance related queries, and supporting the Director of Finance with day-to-day tasks.

You will:

  • have GCSE Mathematics and English grade C or level 5 and above

  • have a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data protection

  • understand the importance of safeguarding and child protection in a school setting

  • have an understanding of GDPR

  • have excellent organisational and time-management skills

  • have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders

  • be proficient in the use of IT systems and software, knowledge of SAGE Intaact is advantageous but not a requirement

  • have great attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry

  • have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as required

  • have flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the school.
