Job Description

Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. We’re on a mission to make flying better than ‘nice’. And to do that, it takes a team of talented people who are passionate about customer experience, doing the right thing always, with a focus on safety – in the air, on the ground and in our workplaces. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.

What you’ll be doing

As our Finance and Procurement Platform Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our core Finance and Procurement systems are stable, well-governed and continuously improving to meet business needs.

Reporting to the Finance and Procurement Platform Owner, you’ll operate as a trusted subject matter expert, partnering closely with Finance, Procurement, Technology teams and external vendors to deliver reliable and scalable platform outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as the SME across Finance and Procurement platforms, including Oracle ERP Cloud and related systems
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across Finance and Procurement systems
  • Investigate and resolve complex system issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions
  • Own and deliver smaller enhancement initiatives end-to-end, from requirements through to implementation
  • Support larger transformation initiatives by providing subject matter expertise and ensuring alignment to business processes
  • Manage relationships with vendors and outsourced support partners to ensure service quality and delivery
  • Contribute to platform governance, including access management, controls, audit readiness and compliance
  • Support release cycles, upgrades and change management activities
  • Drive improved reporting, visibility and platform performance through strong operational governance

You’ll play a critical role in bridging business and technology, ensuring Finance and Procurement platforms support both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic objectives.

You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Experience supporting Finance and/or Procurement systems within a complex organisation
  • Strong understanding of Finance or Procurement processes and how they translate into system solutions
  • Experience with Oracle ERP Cloud (Finance, Procurement or EPM) or similar enterprise platforms
  • Proven ability to analyse business problems and translate them into system requirements and solutions
  • Experience working with vendors or outsourced support partners
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex issues through to resolution
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong understanding of governance, controls and system lifecycle processes

Desirable:

  • Professional accounting qualification or relevant certifications
  • Experience in large or regulated environments
  • Exposure to integrations and broader enterprise systems
  • Airline or travel industry experience

We’re committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry – including (but not limited to):

  • Discounted flights for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of travel credits per year)
  • A flexible, hybrid work style. Work from home or the office, adapt your location to suit your style and needs
  • One of Brisbane’s most admired head office locations, with South Bank train station, a supermarket, pharmacy, and lunch options downstairs plus a 5-minute walk to the Busway, a rooftop restaurant and onsite gym (with a low membership fee) and South Bank Parklands just across the road
  • Discounts on travel insurance, lounge membership, car hire, accommodation, and experiences worldwide
  • Cheaper hospitality, retail, technology, beauty and wellness services
  • Free counselling and access to a well-being app to support your physical, mental, social and financial health
  • ‘Dress for Your Day’ – enjoy the freedom to wear whatever makes you feel great for the type of work you do and the day you have ahead of you.
