About Pyka
Pyka’s goal is to provide society with a new form of safe, clean, and cost-effective transportation enabled by autonomous electric aviation.
To get there, we’re taking a different approach than most. We're applying our technologies to every industry where autonomous electric aircraft can be useful, starting with the highest value and most dangerous jobs. In doing so, we're building game-changing products manufactured at scale, while perfecting the safety, reliability, and capabilities of our autonomy engine and electric propulsion systems.
We design, develop and manufacture an ecosystem of technologies including proprietary flight control software, avionics, high power density motors, motor controllers, batteries, and custom carbon-fiber composite airframes.
Today, we supply autonomous electric aircraft for cargo transport and crop protection to real-world customers across four separate continents and have secured industry-first regulatory approvals from the FAA. Our cargo aircraft enables remote connectivity, enhances express delivery networks, and ensures fast and reliable shipping of critical supplies to areas in need. Our crop protection aircraft offers agricultural services providers and farmers an autonomous tool to make aerial application safer, more precise, and less harmful to surrounding environments. Both vehicles are highly economical to operate, easy to deploy, and significantly reduce C02 emissions in their respective industries.
What you work on at Pyka makes people’s lives better now and brings the future of electric aviation one step closer each day.
Pyka is looking for a Finance and Business Manager to lead the financial, administrative, and operational buildout of our Brazilian subsidiary. This is not a traditional back-office finance role as you will be hands-on across customs and import logistics, regulatory compliance, legal project management, and while supporting our local operations team as we scale Pelican aircraft deployments across Brazil and potentially South America.
You will serve as the primary financial point person in Brazil, working closely with Pyka’s US-based leadership and external advisors (legal counsel, accountants, customs brokers) to ensure the subsidiary runs smoothly and compliantly. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact position ideal for someone who thrives in startup environments where the scope of the job extends well beyond the title.
This role is based in Brazil Fluent English is required, as you will communicate daily with Pyka’s headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area.
5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial operations, with at least some of that time in a role that extended into operational, administrative, or project management responsibilities
Strong working knowledge of Brazilian tax, accounting, and corporate regulations
Demonstrated ability to manage legal and regulatory projects, coordinating between internal stakeholders and external counsel
Fluent in English and Portuguese (spoken and written) — you will communicate daily with Pyka’s US headquarters and must be able to draft documents, lead calls, and present in both languages
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort working with financial models and reporting tools
Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently, prioritize across multiple workstreams, and adapt to a fast-moving environment
Experience working in a startup or high-growth company, particularly in a role where you helped build operations from the ground up
Experience with import/export operations in Brazil — familiarity with customs procedures, NCM classification, and trade incentive programs is highly valued
Familiarity with transfer pricing methodologies (TNMM/NCP) and intercompany documentation requirements under Brazilian law
Background in agribusiness or aviation
Join a well-funded, fast-growing climate tech company at the forefront of autonomous electric aviation
Be part of building something from the ground up in one of the world’s most important agricultural markets
High-autonomy role with direct exposure to Pyka’s senior leadership
Opportunity to shape the financial and operational foundation of an entire country operation
Work on technology that makes people’s lives better and brings the future of electric aviation closer each day
