About the Initiative:
CIP is implementing a
four-year project on Market-led Transformation of the Root and Tuber Crops
Subsector in Malawi (RTC MARKET) program, 2023 – 2027. The goal of the project
is to sustainably increase the contribution of the RTC subsector to the national
economy, food and nutrition security, incomes, and employment creation through
commercialization of the subsector. It aims to transform and commercialize the
RTC subsector by increasing private sector participation in the RTC value chains.
The RTC-Market Project plans to reach at least 60,000 value chain actors with
market-led interventions by end of the four years. The project will be
implemented in the following districts: Nsanje, Mulanje, Blantyre, Lilongwe,
Zomba, Mangochi and Salima for OFSP; Dedza, Ntcheu, Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzimba,
Mchinji, Dowa and Ntchisi for potato; and Mzimba, Lilongwe, Kasungu, Blantyre,
Salima, Zomba, Nkhota-kota and Nkhata-Bay for cassava.
About the role
:
This position will Provide finance and administrative support to CIP
projects in the country office by performing a variety of administrative
activities related to accounting, legal taxes and arranging with external
suppliers to contribute to the accounting processing operations and cash
management. This position reports to the Project Manager & Crop Management
Specialist and will be based on Bvumbwe, Malawi.
Key
responsibilities:
·
Finance:
o
Revise, verify and prepare the
confirmation of bank movements and balances.
o
Organize and verify banking transactions
to ensure they are being properly processed.
o
Help maintain documentation updated in
relation to CIP's base information in public and private entities to contribute
to the monitoring of assignments.
o
Keep updated file system and thus ensure
the proper monitoring of information.
o
Support in generating requisitions and
purchase orders corresponding to the department.

Administration:
o
Provide logistical and clerical support
to projects in all administrative issues.
o
Support the procurement of goods and
services as requested.
o
Assist in the proper recording of CIP
assets or on assets management
o
Comply with
applicable health and safety CIP policies and procedures.
What
are we looking for?

Bachelor's
degree in economics, finance, accounting or administration.
·
1 year of experience similar
positions, especially in treasury handling accounting systems.
·
Proficient experience in MS
Office, especially Excel and software applications.
·
Experience working on
procurement and logistics processes will be an advantage.
·
Outstanding writing and
reporting skills.
·
Ability to organize
department activities and processes.
·
Languages: Fluent in
English and Chichewa
·
