Finance Analyst 6months FTC

Multiple Roles

Swindon, Newport, or Stockton-on-Tees – hybrid working options

Band C £27,756

The teams across Finance Service Delivery process a range of financial transactions and ensure procedures and processes are followed to deliver a high-quality service to our clients.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Produce and maintain financial reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, identifying reconciling items and taking appropriate action to clear within agreed timelines
  • Prepare and process financial journals, ensuring adjustments are accurate, supported and compliant with accounting standards
  • Analyse financial data, identifying trends, variances and issues to support reporting and decision‑making
  • Support production of financial reports, including period-end outputs and statutory reporting requirements
  • Manage and resolve queries, acting as a point of contact for finance-related questions from stakeholders and clients
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and clients to ensure timely resolution of issues and alignment of financial data
  • Apply financial controls and governance requirements, ensuring compliance with policies, audit requirements and regulatory standards
  • Support audit and assurance activity, providing information, explanations and documentation as required
  • Manage own workload, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines, SLAs and reporting cycles
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including desk notes and process guidance

To be considered for the role, you will need the following:

  • Understanding of financial processes and accounting principles (e.g. double entry, reconciliations)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with ability to interpret and present financial data
  • Proficiency in Excel or equivalent tools, including formulas and data manipulation
  • Ability to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies using structured analysis
  • Good attention to detail and ability to maintain high accuracy
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines in a performance-driven environment
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain financial information clearly to stakeholders
