We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Finance Analyst to join our team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong analytical background who enjoys working closely with commercial and operational teams to drive business performance. You will play a key part in delivering insights on performance trends, margins, and profitability, helping shape strategic and tactical decisions across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse operational and financial performance data to highlight key trends, drivers, and opportunities.
  • Support management accounting processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide insights that improve profitability, margins, and business growth.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track KPIs and performance.
  • Assist with monthly management reporting and commentary for leadership teams.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to support commercial projects, new initiatives, and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a finance, accounting, or analytical role in a New Zealand professional organisation.
  • Strong Excel and financial analysis skills (SQL or other data tools a plus)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Experience with ERP systems and/or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Hubble) is advantageous
  • Actively working towards a professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, CFA)

Employment details

  • Salary Range: NZD $70,000 – $85,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)
  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
  • Work Location: Auckland
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
