Job Description

The Finance Analyst provides end-to-end compliance support for assigned entities by owning statutory reporting deliverables and selected local tax compliance activities that must reconcile to the audited financial statements. The role is designed for a higher-skill analyst who can bridge accounting and tax requirements, coordinate effectively with external advisors, and reduce execution risk caused by fragmented ownership.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements and related disclosures for assigned entities in accordance with US GAAP, local GAAP, and applicable statutory requirements.
  • Own end-to-end statutory audit coordination for assigned entities, including planning, preparation of supporting schedules, management of auditor queries, and timely close-out.
  • Support defined local tax compliance activities for assigned entities, including coordination and review of inputs for corporate income tax, withholding tax, and stamp duty matters.
  • Prepare and reconcile tax-related schedules that support statutory audit, tax computations, and year-end filings, ensuring consistency between audited accounts and tax positions.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors on return preparation, revised estimates, tax authority queries, and tax audit support, while retaining internal ownership of data quality, timeliness, and issue follow-up.
  • Work with Finance, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and shared service teams to resolve cross-functional issues affecting statutory reporting or tax compliance for assigned entities.
  • Identify gaps, handoff risks, or control weaknesses across the statutory and tax compliance process, and recommend practical improvements to improve timeliness, clarity of ownership, and audit readiness.
  • Maintain clear documentation and support packages for both statutory and tax deliverables to ensure audit defensibility and business continuity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or MIA strongly preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in statutory reporting, audit, or financial compliance, preferably with Big 4 audit experience.
  • Practical exposure to local tax compliance, including corporate income tax and withholding tax.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and the linkage between statutory accounts and tax computations.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple compliance deadlines, and take ownership of assigned legal entities.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and advanced Excel capability.
  • Experience in an MNC environment and familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP are advantageous.
