Job Description

Sherwin Business Services – General Accounts (SBS-GA) is responsible for gathering, processing and verifying financial data, reconciling and ensuring the accuracy of financial information, and providing information for required stakeholders.

This position will serve a key role in SBS-GA team across the various global regions and is responsible for transaction processing such as General Ledger monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations and policy compliance.

The successful applicant will be flexible and tenacious, self-motivated with excellent communication skills. Accuracy and attention to detail is paramount.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

The analyst could be handling any of the responsibilities below: -

  • Timely and accurate completion of record to report general accounting activities, including processing journal entries, preparation and calculation of accruals, prepayments, adjustments for NOAM or EMEAI Region via Oracle system (R12 & Cloud version).
  • To complete quality monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations on time and in compliance with group accounting and reconciliation policy via One Stream system. Continuous improvement to any work undertaken.
  • To ensure proper supporting and documentation comply with SOX and internal/ external audit requirement.
  • To address all GL-related queries from every stakeholder timely. Support, follow-up and escalation of identified issues.
  • To proactively analyze and ensure the accounting transaction is reasonable and prepare documentation for internal auditor or management.
  • To work closely with superiors in process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • To develop and maintain collaborative working relationship with internal and foreign finance subsidiaries when resolving issues.
  • Support both internal and external audits, attending to audit queries and information requests.
  • Other additional task as assigned by the manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1.FORMAL EDUCATION:

Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree

2.KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and finance knowledge.
  • Basic level skill in use of Microsoft Excel and Words.
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills

3.TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new concepts and software.
  • Teamwork and collaboration in a professional environment.
  • Resourceful and with good problem-solving skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Good knowledge in computer systems (Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and Power Point)
  • Attention to details and accuracy in accounting process.
