The Role

We are currently recruiting for an organised and proactive Finance Administrator to join our Brisbane team.

This role is paramount in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the firm’s Finance function. You will be responsible for processing and maintaining key finance transactions and providing support across a range of finance processes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with end-of-month reconciliations, including prepayments, fixed assets, depreciation, other debtors and accounts payable;
  • Assisting with end-of-month cost reporting and reallocations for Practice Groups, Industry Groups and Committees across the firm;
  • Responding to internal queries relating to team cost budgets;
  • Supporting allocated tasks as part of the end-of-month billing process;
  • Assisting with the maintenance of client and matter level exception rates, including volume discounting, and providing backup support as required;
  • Managing the team’s centralised inbox and responding to finance-related queries from across the firm; and
  • Providing support to the Finance Reporting team as required.

Experience

As the successful candidate, you will bring experience in finance administration, ideally within a professional services or legal environment, together with an understanding of Queensland trust accounting requirements and investment rules and regulations. Previous bookkeeping experience will be highly regarded.

You will also have:

  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail;
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy;
  • A proactive approach, with the initiative and judgement to take ownership of your work;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people;
  • A service-focused mindset and an approachable, professional manner;
  • A genuine willingness to support colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team; and
  • Experience working with legal accounting, reporting or business intelligence systems including Aderant, NetDocs and Cognos.
