Finance & Administration Manager

Loulo-Gounkoto is seeking to recruit a Finance & Administration Manager to join and grow our team.

As the Finance & Administration Manager, you will oversee the financial management at the site level, ensuring efficient cost management, compliance with the relevant accounting standards (SYSCOHADA, IFRS) and optimal financial planning. You will be responsible for managing the finance team, delivering accurate financial reports, driving operational efficiencies, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management, both at site level and to the executive function.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Oversee, daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting ensuring accurate and timely completion of key reconciliations, journal entries and cost analysis.
  • Conduct financial modelling, rolling forecasts and annual budget preparations.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on cost management and long-term financial plans.
  • Prepare financial reports for senior management, including monthly and quarterly performance reviews and board presentations, highlighting key cost drivers and financial insights.
  • Lead financial audits, both internal and external, and ensure compliance with OHADA, IFRS and SOX standards.

Operational Financial Management:

  • Conduct in-depth analyses to drive cost efficiency and work closely with department heads to ensure that performance metrics (tonnes, meters, ounces) are achieved in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor cost performance, manage project forecasting and control project budgets.
  • Advise leadership on financial forecast and identify risks and opportunities for mitigation.

Compliance & Internal Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies and all relevant statutory and tax regulations.
  • Implement and maintain financial reporting systems, drive SOX compliance and continuously improve internal process.
  • Work closely with local authorities to ensure compliance with all local tax and statutory obligations.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage, mentor and evaluate the finance team providing leadership and development opportunities to drive performance and growth.
  • Build effective teams, ensuring clear succession plans and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Motivate teams to meet organizational objectives while maintaining focus on health, safety and operational efficiency.

Systems & Technology Management:

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of financial systems and software ensuring seamless integration with other business functions.
  • Leverage financial reporting software and Excel to enhance financial analysis and decision-making.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) designation or (or equivalent).

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Minimum of seven years’ management experience, with at least 3 years in senior finance or accounting roles.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, forecasting and budget control.
  • Expertise in financial modelling, cost management and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Fluency in English and French, both written and verbal. Verbal fluency of the local language (Bambara) will be advantageous.
  • Assertive and decisive, with strong emotional intelligence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Leadership qualities to mentor and drive teams effectively.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality with financial and regulatory information.
