We are looking for a sharp, analytical, and proactive Accountant to join our finance team in Nisku, AB. If you are an analytical thinker who loves digging into complex reconciliations, running a smooth month-end close, and driving process efficiencies, we want to hear from you!
The Accountant is responsible for providing timely and accurate accounting, analysis, and financial reports.
What You’ll Do
• Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial reporting activities.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with internal controls. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances as necessary.
• Prepare and file sales and franchise tax returns.
What You Bring
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• A CPA designation is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in MS Dynamics Great Plains and Solver (or QuickBooks); advanced Excel skills (VLookups, Pivot Tables) are a must.
• An analytical thinker who catches the details, adapts quickly to change, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
