Institution Description
Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of the Johns Hopkins University’s Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. As part of the nation’s first research university, AAP offers high-quality master’s degrees and certificate programs at its Washington, D.C., Center, at JHU’s Homewood Campus in Baltimore, Maryland, and online. AAP enrolls almost 6,000 students each academic year in over 45 programs and distinguishes itself through its intensive instructional assistance, selective admissions, and 60 dedicated full-time faculty. The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks non-tenure-track adjunct faculty to teach courses within the MA in Film and Media. Of particular interest are candidates who have experience engaging students from diverse backgrounds. We are looking for faculty who have experience in location sound. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • An advanced degree, master’s degree at minimum
  • At least five years of professional work experience with film/television strategic communications, marketing and/or publicity

Opening Night: Communication Strategies, Marketing Choices, Finding and Reaching Your Audience. ( Tentative Title)

Preferred Qualifications

  • A terminal degree in a relevant field related to Film and Media.
  • 1-3 years of higher education teaching experience.
  • Experience in developing graduate courses (helpful but not necessary).
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Marketing and/or Publicity (Film and Media Openings).
    • Global Communications Strategy and Promotions
    • Film Festivals (National and/or International)
    • Premiering Films, Media, Author and other Arts Events
    • Branding and Promotions (Entertainment field)

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Vaccine Requirements

Johns Hopkins University strongly encourages, but no longer requires, at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This change does not apply to the School of Medicine (SOM). The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those candidates who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
