Job Description

The Filling Operator 2 may perform a variety of significant tasks, which contribute to the over-all quality and safety of POM Wonderful products and employees. This may include performing tasks in multiple areas, including but not limited to Batch operator, material handler, Utility, CIP operator and all level 1 operator tasks. The Filling Operator 2 plays a vital role in their contributions towards the success of the Beverage department. All employees of POM Wonderful will be expected to learn and follow all standard work methods, GMP policies, and practice safe work habits to ensure operations is as efficient and safe as possible.

Compensation - $19.50 Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

Batch Operator

  • Required to obtain HACCP certification annually
  • Responsible for the documentation/operation of Canister CCP’s
  • Perform “pre-flight” checks created for Batch Operator position
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects
  • Perform preventative work orders pertaining but not limited to cleaning, and wear and tear observations
  • May be asked to assist with level 1 breaks, lunches, or even absences
  • Ability to operate level 1 machinery, including “pre-flight” checks, and documentation
  • Responsible for visual management of flow meters, tank levels, RO water supply, tank cleanings
  • Support with new onboarding training for future employees
  • Required to attend chemical training annually
  • May be asked to support COP cleanings inside the Beverage Filler
  • Responsible for the physical creation of batches
  • Required to follow specific ingredients, and produce batches to internal specifications
  • Responsible for assisting with re-work, including but not limited to dumping bottles, disposal of materials, proper documentation
  • Required to cross train to all level 2 positions

Material Handler

  • Responsible for tracking Filling consumables
  • Responsible for re-work tasks and procedures
  • Ability to operate level 1 machinery, including “pre-flight” checks, and documentation
  • Required to have a company email, report inventory counts, respond to any concerns dealing with consumption/inventory
  • Responsible for reconciling batches to completion
  • Responsible for the removal and installation of chart recorders daily
  • Required to collect all material tags from various machines and consume accordingly
  • Required to learn and operate within our Oracle system
  • May be asked to assist with level 1 breaks, lunches, or even absences
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects
  • Perform preventative work orders pertaining but not limited to cleaning, and wear and tear observations
  • Support with new onboarding training for future employees
  • Responsible for all controlled documents throughout the filling department
  • Assist with SDS documents
  • Required to attend chemical training annually
  • May be asked to support COP cleanings inside the Beverage Filler
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects
  • Assist with BRC audit preparations
  • Required to cross train to all level 2 positions

Utility

  • Ability to operate level 1 machinery, including “pre-flight” checks, and documentation
  • Responsible for breaks and lunches for level 1 and 3 operators (adhere to 5th hr. requirements)
  • Required to cross train to all level 2 positions
  • Responsible for the documentation and visual management of the tube-in-tube (CCP)
  • Ability to complete all level 3 daily documentation
  • Required to obtain HACCP certification annually
  • Ability to perform all “pre-flight” checks for level 1 and 3 equipment
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects
  • Perform preventative work orders pertaining but not limited to cleaning, and wear and tear observations
  • Assist in any re-work assignments
  • Required to attend chemical training annually
  • May be asked to support COP cleanings inside the Beverage Filler

CIP Operator

  • Safety and quality are always priority in all daily tasks
  • Pre-flight checks
  • Correlate batches vs. production orders
  • Schedule CIP’S on juice holding tanks
  • Operate chiller as needed
  • Monitor and change HACCP canister filters
  • Adhere to all batch sheet recipes
  • Communicate with supervisor and lead
  • Adhere to 5’s zones
  • Food safety awareness
  • Handle cleaning chemicals according to standard operating procedures
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of chemicals used for the various CIP’s
  • Must pass a physical test demonstrating the CIP use of the APS, SERAC filler, tanks etc.
  • Ability to fill out approved documentation associated with CIP’s
  • Ability to demonstrate the importance of safety at all times by using the correct PPE’s for each task and following the SWS/SSOP for the task that is being performed.
  • Check out chemicals, tools and equipment from chemical room and return them at the end of your shift.
  • Use the color-coding chart to ensure that the correct chemical containers are being used.
  • Ability to use cleaning tools, chemical foamers, squeegees, brooms, scrubbers, water hoses, high pressure water guns and other tools and equipment to clean areas around the plant.
  • Ability to fill out the MSS sheets of areas that were cleaned throughout the shift.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment for chemical specific use.
  • Must be able to work in wet environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., push, pull, lift and climb when needed to complete various tasks.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule with some mandatory weekends and overtime.
  • Must have the ability to document and understand written sentences in work related documentations.
  • Communication skills appropriately communicate with operation personnel, coworkers, and management.

Education & Experience

Less than high school education; or up to three-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
