*This is a night shift role with hours 5PM - 5:30AM on a rotating 2/2/3 schedule*

*Training on dayshift, Monday-Friday, 5AM - 1:30PM required for first several weeks*

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter …

  • Operate and monitor production filler equipment to ensure food safety, product quality and conformity to customer standards and specifications
  • Safely and efficiently set up, operate and clean filler machines/equipment as assigned
  • Be proficient in Sterilization-In-Place (SIP), operation and/or Clean-In-Place (CIP) of assigned filler machine
  • Effective communication and coordination with other departments to ensure product is filled and supplied in accordance with our production run schedule, product end of run, and product changeovers.
  • Follow all Chart Recording guidelines, ensure accuracy and completion of all required documentation, charts and records. Audit records at the end of each shift.
  • Proficiency with computer-based software and automated control systems.
  • Support internal and external compliance audits.
  • Perform equipment CIP/SIP/(Clean-out-of-Place (COP)/Sanitation and complete department clean-up and general housekeeping as required.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform all required department environment controls.
  • Follow all established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)/Food Safety/Allergen policies.
  • Follow all employee Health and Safety policies
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions. Follow the established notification protocols.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments.
  • Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
  • Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Safe operation of lift truck and material handling equipment.
  • Cross-train with other departments.
  • Perform good housekeeping within establishing guidelines.
  • Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
  • Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
  • Other duties as required by management.

You Are Best Suited For The Role If You Have The Following Experience, Skills, and Qualifications …

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Advanced training with a concentration in dairy science, a plus.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
  • Ability to achieve lift truck certification and safely operate lift trucks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated work history.
  • Consistent attendance is a must.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
  • Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.
  • Physical lifting up to 40-lbs frequently throughout the shift unassisted and lift 50+ lbs. with assistance, up to 30% of the shift.
  • Good visual acuity to include the ability to see and differentiate color.
  • Shift flexibility. This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a 3-shift, 24/7 operation to support manufacturing. These shifts are 12 hours in duration. Workdays and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.

Starting Rate: $27.94 with increases up to $30.94
