Job Description

Field Training Officer

Job title: Field Training Officer

Reports to: Field Training Manager

Location: On-site

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Salary: $35.00-$38.00hrs

About our team

We are a dynamic, dedicated team that provides management and support for a global guarding services account that spans across 30+ countries. Our client is an industry-leading datacenter organization, and we pride ourselves in delivering best-in-class solutions through our teams made up of Security Operations, Operations Support, Business Operations, Environmental Health and Safety, and Human Resources. As part of this team, you’ll work alongside a group of professionals that are committed to excellence and innovation.

About the role

The Field Training Officer (FTO) serves as the principal training resource for a datacenter campus or metro location. In addition to providing training, job functions may include problem resolution, service enhancement, and process improvement as it pertains to security operations, safety, and training. The Field Training Officer reports directly to the Field Training Manager (FTM), and will work closely with other sites, regional, and headquarter leadership. This position will have no direct reports but will work closely with campus and sub-regional training leadership to assess employees, site, and campus needs.

What you’ll do

In this role, you serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding and ongoing training at the site, campus, and country level. You are responsible for training and certifying new security personnel, delivering refresher and sustainment training, and ensuring officers consistently meet required security standards. This includes evaluating performance during training and maintaining accurate training records and certifications.

You are responsible for tracking training completion for all security personnel and maintaining required training and safety documentation in line with established policies and procedures. You conduct recurring training audits, prepare and submit required reports, and handle critical or confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

A key part of the role is safety and compliance leadership. You promote safety awareness across the campus, champion global and regional safety initiatives, identify security or safety gaps, and escalate concerns as needed. You work with campus security leadership to support individual development plans for officers and provide feedback on competence, compliance, and morale.

You collaborate closely with local leadership, the PMO training team, and program leadership to develop site‑specific training plans, recommend onboarding and training schedules, and support compliance‑related tools and processes. You will communicate with client representatives and internal stakeholders, including leading in‑person and virtual training sessions, presentations, and group meetings. You will also support additional tasks as needed to help meet ongoing operational requirements.

What you need to apply

To apply for this role, you should have an associate’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience in the security industry, business operations, or a similar environment, along with 2+ years of training or instructional experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Experience in datacenter environments and developing or delivering training is preferred. You should be comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint as these tools are used regularly.

This role requires frequent travel, approximately 50% of the time, including travel between sites—sometimes with limited notice—and occasional travel between regions or countries to support operational needs. A valid passport and a genuine passion for travel are essential. Applicants must also be able and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (such as during emergencies or high‑priority events).

All applicants must have reliable means of communication and transportation (public or private) to travel to and from work, the legal right to work in the country where the position is located, and proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English and the common local language (where applicable).

What you’ll get

We offer more than just a job; we offer the chance to be part of a collaborative and supportive team where your contributions are valued and your growth matters. In this role, you will thrive in a dynamic environment while supporting a prestigious multinational client account. You will gain exposure to global operations and cross-regional collaboration, and you will have access to continuous learning, training programs, and career development opportunities designed to help you succeed.

The extra stuff

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the job location, and willing to complete the company’s pre‑employment screening, including a background check and drug screening. This role may require evening, overnight, or weekend work, particularly during emergencies or high‑priority events. Work may occur in outdoor or inclement weather or environments requiring protective gear and heightened safety awareness.

This standardized global job description is intended to define the core responsibilities and requirements of the Field Training Officer role across regions. Local addenda may be applied to address country-specific legal, regulatory, language, or clearance requirements without altering the core role definition.
