The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the State-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.

Provides specialised field-based road surface testing across South Australia and analysing data to support the assessment and management of the State’s road infrastructure assets.

The role requires a high level of technical competence, accuracy, and attention to detail to ensure reliable testing outcomes and data integrity. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, a commitment to safety, and the flexibility to work both independently and outside standard business hours.

Education Qualifications / Licences

• Relevant Diploma or Advanced Diploma or recognised qualification approved as being
• appropriate to the career group, or alternative as being defined within the classification
• standards.
• Work Zone Traffic Management (RIIWHS205D & RIIWHS302D) – Desirable.
• Work Health and Safety Construction Induction (White Card) – Desirable.
• Medium Rigid driver’s licence (MR) – Desirable.
• A current driver’s licence is essential.

Special Conditions

• A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
• Available to be rostered on call after hours at short notice.
• Demonstrates flexibility in working hours and a willingness to travel, including working at sites remote from the home depot. This may involve long-distance driving and overnight absences.
• Must be physically fit and able to perform the duties.
• Some out of hours and weekend work may be required.

Tenure of Vacancy

Temporary appointment up to twelve (12) months.

Remuneration

OPS5 - $88,149 to $94,236 pa + superannuation.

TGO3 - $90,371 to $95,410 pa + superannuation.
