Job Description

We're looking for a Field Technician with hands-on construction materials testing experience who is ready to hit the ground running. This is an active, field-based role where you'll spend your days on construction sites, road projects, and in testing facilities helping ensure the quality and integrity of critical infrastructure projects.

One day you may be testing fresh concrete at a high-rise development. The next, you'll be collecting and transporting samples between an active roadway project, the curing facility, and the laboratory. If you enjoy working outdoors, being on the move, and playing a key role in construction quality and safety, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Perform standardized field testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, and other construction materials using ASTM and other industry-approved testing methods.
  • Conduct fresh concrete testing, sample collection, and documentation at active construction sites.
  • Transport concrete cylinders and construction material samples between job sites, curing facilities, and the laboratory using your personal vehicle.
  • Accurately record and report test results in accordance with ASTM standards and company procedures.
  • Inspect, maintain, and verify testing equipment to ensure reliable and accurate field measurements.
  • Support laboratory testing activities and assist with additional materials testing assignments as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, contractors, and internal staff regarding testing schedules and results.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I Certification required, or actively pursuing certification with completion expected shortly.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in construction materials testing, field inspection, concrete testing, geotechnical testing, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle available for transportation of test cylinders and material samples.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites.
  • Ability to travel between multiple job sites throughout the day as project demands require.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional certifications related to concrete, soil, asphalt, or construction materials testing.
  • Experience performing ASTM field testing procedures.
  • Prior experience working on commercial, infrastructure, roadway, or heavy civil construction projects.
