Qualifications
This position is an off site role working in the cleaning of a steel mill. In addition, also this role will also work at a rail site moving bags of Hazardous waste dust. Working in a steel mill involves potential exposure to hazardous materials, so safety is paramount. Field Technicians must be proficient in using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols.
Job Duties
• Light Lock out/ Tag out work.
• Will work with vactor trucks and operators.
• Supervision of subcontractors to ensure that they are following proper operational and safety protocols.
• Accurately complete, and review various forms such as driver logs, service and work orders, manifests, chain of custody, and bills of lading.
• Work on calls as required to assist subcontractors in clean up activities performed at client’s site.
• Potential use of various types of tools including but not limited to rags, absorbents, brooms, shovels, buckets and pressure washer.
• Driving a fork lift.
• Properly label and mark non-hazardous waste containers for transportation and storage in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Maintain current licenses and certifications necessary to complete job assignments.
• Ensure proper records are on file with company.
• Operate company vehicle to run errands as required.
• 100% adhere to PPE policy.
• General office and warehouse cleaning such as maintenance and repair.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Hazwoper training preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year experience working in hazardous waste industry preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English language.
• Effective communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime with little or no notice.
