Job Description
OBJECTIVE:
The Field Supervisor II serves as a leadership role designed to support developing and expansion branch locations. This role combines operational leadership, project support, and direct field staff supervision while maintaining partial billable responsibility as needed. The Field Supervisor II leads field technicians and assigned project management resources to ensure operational efficiency, project execution, workforce development, customer satisfaction, and alignment with company goals during branch growth phases.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
- Continually develops and strengthens assigned teams through cross training, coaching, performance evaluations, compensation reviews, employee development, promotions, motivation, corrective action, and dismissals as necessary.
- Recruits, interviews, screens, and retain high-quality team members while developing relationships with area high schools, technical schools, colleges, and industry organizations to support long-term workforce growth.
- Supervises and supports assigned field technicians and project management personnel to ensure compliance with company policies, operational processes, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Participates in project scheduling meetings and collaborates with the PMO and Operations groups to identify staffing needs, schedule resources, and maintain efficient labor utilization across booked and forecasted projects.
- Creates and communicates clear goals and expectations for assigned personnel while fostering accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and alignment with company strategies and culture.
- Reviews and approves labor hours, overtime, expenses, and related documentation for assigned personnel while maintaining budget awareness and operational efficiency.
- Maintains high levels of communication with customers, field staff, project managers, leadership, and other stakeholders regarding staffing, project execution, operational concerns, and branch performance.
- Assists with workforce planning by analyzing labor demand, identifying staffing shortages or overages, and coordinating resource allocation to support project schedules and branch growth initiatives.
- Performs risk analysis related to staffing, project schedules, quality, and operational execution while assisting with recovery planning for troubled or delayed projects.
- Supports branch operational growth initiatives including recruiting, onboarding, training, culture development, process implementation, and operational scalability within emerging markets.
- Maintains partial billable utilization as required to support branch workload, customer needs, training initiatives, or operational coverage during developing office growth phases.
- Participates in the development and continuous improvement of operational processes, field procedures, scheduling practices, safety initiatives, and project execution standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Field Supervisor II directly oversees assigned field technicians and may provide leadership support to assigned project management personnel within developing branch locations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6+ years of supervisory, field leadership, or project operations experience within the communications or low-voltage industry.
- Two-year degree from an accredited college, university, or technical institution with coursework in construction, project management, communications, business, or technical disciplines; or substitute two years of pertinent experience for each year of education.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coordinate project staffing, and manage operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of communications systems including audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data network systems.
- Strong understanding of field operations, labor forecasting, scheduling coordination, and project execution practices.
- PC proficiency in a Windows environment with strong working knowledge of Excel and operational/project management software systems.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- The duties of this job require the employee to effectively talk and hear English language communications.
- The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
- Lifting of objects is required.
- The employee may be required to be able to climb ladders up to 12 feet high or be in a lift to extended heights.
- Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Above average intellectual ability and excellent judgment are needed to deal effectively with a wide range of problem solving and trouble shooting activities.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
