Job Description

Primary Location

QLD - BanyoThe key objectives of this position are to manage a large portfolio of NBN ODM Construction projects, perform site assessments, lead a team of sub-contractors, and proactively manage construction orders to ensure you are delivering to key dates. Support the business in the day-to-day operations activities and contractor management functions within the NBN ODM contract. In addition, the Field Supervisor will ensure contractors completing work maintain and are compliant with all Safety & Quality standards and meet contractual performance targets

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: QLD-Brisbane.

Reporting Line: Regional Delivery Manager

About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, supervise and coordinate the activities of field staff and sub-contractors

  • Work closely with a team of project engineers/coordinators to manage a large portfolio of projects and pro-actively schedule in construction activities to meet commitment dates.

  • Review and understand construction designs and build to the correct specifications

  • Ensure all field work is of a high quality consistent with relevant OH & S policies and procedures

  • Coordinate and assist in the training of all staff and sub- contractors including management of sub-contractor compliance

  • Liaise with the client and its customers to appropriately manage the client’s network and plant

  • Liaise with and make arrangements with Public Authorities for provision of services to the network and working in public areas

  • Arrange reports to management and the customer on the status of work.

  • Other duties as directed by the field services manager.

About You

  • As the successful candidate, you will have

  • 5 years’ experience working within the telecommunications industry

  • Experience leading teams of sub-contractors & managing a large portfolio of projects

  • Experience in ODM New developments program.

  • Civil construction, cable hauling, NBN Fibre HFC and Copper.

  • Previous experience managing operational performance & targets.

  • Computer literate: Adept at the use of PC, iPad and associated software system. PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc

  • Flexible approach and well-developed contract management skills.

  • Strong client focus and ability to negotiate with the client and external parties.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Current drivers license

  • Industry white card

  • Cert IV in telecommunications is an advantage
