This is a senior, hands-on field leadership role for someone who can coordinate 20+ traffic control crews, develop foremen and crew leaders, maintain strong safety and service standards, and build customer relationships that support repeat and new business.

If you have led a large traffic control operation and enjoy developing teams while solving day-to-day field challenges, we’d like to speak with you.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations and scheduling for approximately 20+ traffic control crews, adjusting staffing, equipment, and resources as project needs change.
  • Lead, coach, and develop foremen, crew leaders, and field employees; support recruiting and team growth.
  • Oversee work-zone setup and removal, and ensure crews can read and properly implement traffic control plans (TCPs).
  • Reinforce a safety-first culture through field visits, safety meetings, and prompt resolution of hazards or compliance concerns.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships, respond to urgent requests, and help identify opportunities for repeat and new business.
  • Coordinate vehicles, equipment, materials, inspections, maintenance, and field documentation.
  • Resolve scheduling, staffing, customer, and jobsite issues with sound judgment and clear communication.
  • Ensure work follows applicable federal, state, and local requirements, customer specifications, and company policies.
  • Travel to worksites throughout the assigned Northeast region and support storm-response operations when needed.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 5–7+ years of traffic control experience, including leadership of multiple crews.
  • Proven ability to manage a large field operation; experience overseeing 20+ crews is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success developing field leaders, growing teams, and improving operational performance.
  • Experience maintaining customer relationships and contributing to repeat or new business.
  • TCT and TCS certifications, or the credentials required for the assigned work and jurisdiction.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and implement traffic control plans.
  • Strong scheduling, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • A valid, current driver’s license.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and meet the physical requirements of field operations.
  • Availability for early starts, overtime, nights, weekends, regional travel, and storm-response work as business needs require.

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive pay and opportunities for wage growth
  • Weekly pay
  • 13 days of paid time off plus 7 paid holidays annually
  • Medical, dental, and vision plans; the employer pays 75% of medical benefit costs
  • Benefits eligibility for full-time employees in less than 60 days, subject to plan terms
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Employer-paid or reimbursed certifications and continuing training
  • Overtime opportunities, where applicable
