Job Description

The Thru Tubing Field Specialist II is responsible for the safe, efficient, and successful execution of complex thru-tubing well intervention operations in onshore and offshore environments. The role provides technical leadership in operational planning, tool selection, BHA design, and well intervention execution while ensuring compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and QHSE policies. As the primary field representative, the specialist supports operational excellence, customer engagement, and the development of junior personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise, and execute complex thru-tubing operations in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership on tool selection, BHA design, hydraulic simulations, and operational planning.
  • Lead field crews during mobilization, rig-up, job execution, troubleshooting, and demobilization activities.
  • Review job programs, risk assessments, and equipment readiness before operations.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement corrective actions to minimize non-productive time.
  • Prepare accurate operational reports, service documentation, and post-job summaries.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach junior personnel to enhance technical competency and operational performance.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of personnel, equipment, and resources.
  • Maintain compliance with QHSE standards, company policies, and industry regulations while promoting a strong safety culture.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of thru-tubing and well intervention operations.

  • Expertise in fishing, milling, cleanout, cutting, wellbore isolation, and remedial interventions.

  • Strong understanding of coiled tubing, drill pipe, and production tubing conveyed services.

  • Proficiency in BHA design, tool deployment, troubleshooting, and hydraulic simulations.

  • Knowledge of well control principles, risk assessment, and operational risk management.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, high-pressure, and multicultural environments.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Petroleum Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant Well Intervention, Coiled Tubing, Thru Tubing, or Oilfield Services certifications preferred.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in thru-tubing well intervention operations (Rig Site).
  • Proven experience supervising and executing interventions using coiled tubing, drill pipe, and production tubing.
  • Hands-on experience in fishing, milling, cleanout, cutting, completion intervention, and wellbore remediation operations.
  • Experience planning and executing complex onshore and offshore intervention projects.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic simulation tools, well control practices, QHSE requirements, and risk management processes.
  • Strong English communication skills and ability to work independently at customer locations.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (75% or greater), including domestic and international assignments.
