Job Description

Join Weatherford as a Field Specialist and become the key technical interface at well sites, delivering superior service quality to our clients. This role offers progressive career growth from entry-level to senior positions, where you'll apply specialized techniques to troubleshoot complex technical issues, manage equipment installations, and lead field operations crews. You'll work with cutting-edge oilfield technology while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction. This position requires 50-75% travel and offers 24/7 operational support to meet customer needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Client Management: Act as the primary interface with clients at well sites, managing service assignments and coordinating Weatherford personnel to ensure exceptional service delivery

  • Operations Excellence: Execute job planning, tool preparation, mobilization, and job execution while maintaining equipment and facilities in safe, presentable conditions

  • Technical Leadership: Perform engineering checks, hand calculations, software updates, and data analysis to optimize services and recommend solutions to clients

  • Safety & Compliance: Participate in daily safety meetings, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and maintain strict adherence to HSE policies, ensuring all activities meet regulatory standards and industry best practices

  • Equipment Management: Test, operate, and maintain tools and equipment according to work instructions, manage inventory at well sites, and contribute to failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis reports

  • Quality Assurance: Monitor service quality, submit comprehensive job reports, service tickets, and documentation required for client invoicing within acceptable timeframes

  • Team Development: Senior roles will mentor junior specialists, provide technical guidance to management, and lead complex equipment installations

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for operational improvement and actively participate in Weatherford's Quality Management System

Skills and Education

  • High School Diploma

  • 1-2½ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry

  • Technical Certificate from accredited Technical/Vocational School

  • Strong fundamentals in Mechanics, Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics, and/or Hydraulics

  • Proficiency in Mathematics, Basic Physics, and Chemistry

  • Computer fundamentals and software applications

  • Critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and active learning abilities

  • Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills with strong judgment and decision-making capabilities

  • Quality Control Analysis and Service Orientation mindset

  • Time management and ability to work effectively under pressure

  • Mathematical reasoning and spatial visualization for equipment assembly and modifications

  • Physical capability to perform demanding fieldwork tasks

  • Ability to react efficiently when operating tools and machinery in dynamic environments

  • Travel Requirement: 50-75% domestic and potentially international travel
