Role Title: Field Services Representative - ACT
Field Service Representative (FSR) reports to the COSPO SMM to provide frontline technical functions. He or she works alongside a team of multiple Field Service Representatives as part of the COSPO Operations Team.
The role pertains to maintenance of COSPO product lines, Defence Cyber Range (DCR) and Sub-systems, Joint Cyber
Operations Mission System (JCOMS), and Systems Development Test Environment (SDTE).
DCR consists of physical infrastructure located at various locations throughout Australia to provide a Simulated Cyber
Terrain (SCT) in order to provide virtual training, exercise and operational planning to ADF Cyber units. The role requires
conduct of scheduled maintenance and monitoring of the system IAW the Maintenance Management System (MMS) and
DCR System and Security Documentation. The responsibility of the position is for maintenance of physical infrastructure
and production software supporting the infrastructure and SCT. New IT service implementations, physical hardware
installations, maintaining DCR classrooms to be fit for purpose and wider DDG engagement are examples of frequent, but
ad hoc tasks.
JCOMS is the mission system responsible for the conduct of defensive cyber activities throughout the ADF. The system
consists of three sub-systems to deliver the capability. Maintenance of this system is limited to supporting hardware
maintenance/faults and software updates/patching IAW the Maintenance Management System (MMS) and JCOMS
System and Security Documentation. Ad Hoc tasks such as provision of on-site support will also be required.
SDTE is the support system designed to support COSPO activities, including software development, maintenance
recording and scheduling, ILS activities and others. Maintenance requirements for this system are yet to be defined, but
expect support to hardware maintenance and on-site support to be part of the role once delivered.
Transition into Service (TiS) and through life support of the product line is the responsibility of the Product Managers
(PdM). Product Services Team Support is expected to support the PdM as required and through conduct of maintenance
IAW the appropriate frameworks and publications.
Sound technical abilities and customer focus is required. The Field Service Representative is required to be productive
under limited supervision, provide timely feedback on work states and recommends technical options for meeting
workplace objectives.
This role supports various regions around Australia. Domestic travel is occasional and shift work or longer hours may be
required at the approval of COSPO In-Service Sustainment Manager, in support of scheduled exercises.
The Field Service Representative is to support the COSPO Senior Maintenance Manager to maintain the ADF cyber
range and assist with the roll out of scalable cyber ranges to support medium and large scale joint exercises and training
activities.
Note: This position requires access to technical documentation for a US-owned system for which a Third Party Re-Transfer Agreement applies. Should a contractor be engaged in this position, the relevant workforce vendor must work with COSPO to establish and maintain a Third-Party Re-Transfer Agreement for this purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
• Level 1 (Basic) support for all COSPO products
• Level 2 (Troubleshooting) support for all COSPO products
• Logging or assisting with the logging of support requests
• Maintain & administer DCR and SDTE infrastructure and endpoints
• Auditing and asset management of COSPO owned materiel, at unit locations
• Coordination and assistance with COSPO products’ upgrades/updates/maintenance
• Contribute/participate in COSPO product test and evaluation activities
• Participate in support request triage.
• Conduct product maintenance in accordance with the COSPO Maintenance Management System
Qualifications:
Essential:
• Demonstrated knowledge in IT Administration
• Certified SAFe® Practitioner (mandatory for all COSPO personnel - can be completed upon engagement)
Desirable:
• Cyber Security qualifications
• VMWare vCentre – Progress through the VMWare vSphere learning pathway
• CompTIA Sec+
• Industry experience in managing large-scale networks, and Cyber Ranges.
Experience:
Essential:
• Experience in IT Administration
• Experience with Physical and Virtual network devices
• Prior experience in IT cross-functional or project teams
• Prior experience working on ADF systems and networks
Desirable:
• Experience with Powershell
• Experience in and understanding of cyber security
