Job Description

Audubon is currently seeking a Water Treatment Technician to join our team. The Water Treatment Technician at Audubon plays a critical role in supporting field operations for temporary and permanent water filtration projects. This hands-on position requires strong technical acumen, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality service. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with water treatment systems used in construction, stormwater, or pipeline dewatering applications and will be comfortable working in dynamic field environments with frequent travel.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, load, and transport water treatment systems to project sites across various regions.
  • Set up and operate a variety of filtration equipment including media vessels, bag and sand filtration units, metering pumps, and transfer systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on filtration and vacuum systems, including the Hurricane Vacuum System used for media extraction.
  • Conduct field sampling and water quality testing in accordance with project specifications and permit requirements.
  • Interpret and apply discharge permit conditions and ensure systems are compliant with applicable regulatory standards.
  • Identify, document, and resolve operational, technical, or safety issues in the field.
  • Maintain accurate field logs and communicate regularly with project management and clients regarding system performance and service updates.
  • Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally on all job sites.
  • Assist in the improvement of system setups, standard operating procedures, and maintenance protocols.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • 2–5 years of experience in water treatment, stormwater management, pipeline dewatering, or similar technical field.
  • Working knowledge of treatment system components, field testing equipment, and sampling procedures.
  • Familiarity with state-issued discharge permits and NPDES compliance.
  • Mechanically inclined and experienced with pumps, hoses, meters, valves, and filtration media.
  • Comfortable working in a customer-facing role and able to troubleshoot in real-time under field conditions.
  • CDL Class A preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, with availability for night shifts or weekend work depending on project needs.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors in variable weather conditions.
  • Strong safety mindset and commitment to operational excellence.
