The Field Service Technician - VFD Specialist is responsible for the commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of variable frequency drives (VFDs) and associated motor control systems at client sites. Through high-quality interventions and a professional approach, the incumbent ensures operations are safe, efficient, and compliant with established standards while supporting client satisfaction and loyalty.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• Install, configure, and commission VFDs and motor control systems.

• Diagnose faults, perform troubleshooting, and carry out on-site repairs.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.

• Program and adjust VFD parameters to meet operational requirements.

• Provide technical support on-site or remotely and ensure proper follow-up.

• Train and guide client operators and maintenance personnel.

• Work in compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and company procedures.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• Technical training in electrical engineering, industrial electronics, instrumentation, or a related field.

• Significant experience (minimum 5 years) with VFDs in industrial or service environments.

• Strong expertise in electrical troubleshooting and motor controls; PLC integration is an asset.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.

• Client-focused, autonomous, and highly organized.

• Valid driver’s license and availability for frequent travel.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in French

• Written and verbal communication skills in English considered an asset
