About the Role

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join our NSW Service team, supporting customers across parts of Sydney and the Newcastle region. This role involves servicing hospital sterilisation and reprocessing equipment, including steam sterilisers (autoclaves) and washer-disinfectors used in Central Sterile Services Departments (CSSD). You will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, compliance, and safe clinical operations within hospital and sterile environments. This is a field-based role reporting to the Service Manager, with travel across your assigned territory and occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair sterilisers, washer-disinfectors, and related equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, fault finding, and diagnostics
  • Install and commission equipment at hospital sites
  • Conduct testing, calibration, and compliance checks
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, steam, and fluid systems
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reports
  • Work closely with hospital staff, CSSD teams, and biomedical personnel
  • Adhere to infection control and safety standards

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Restricted Electrical Licence (Disconnect/Reconnect) or ability to obtain (via relevant trade qualification, UEERL0004 training, and applicable industry experience)
  • Experience servicing electro-mechanical or industrial equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work closely with customers, clinical staff, and internal teams

Highly Regarded

  • Experience with sterilisers, washer-disinfectors, or healthcare equipment
  • Background in industrial systems, steam equipment, or fluid-handling environments
  • Experience servicing equipment involving pumps, valves, or high-temperature/pressure systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics

Location & Travel

  • Territory Sydney and Newcastle
  • Occasional overnight travel required
