Job Description
Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Field Service Technician to join our client's team.
The Field Service Technician will work on-site across different customer locations, supporting the installation, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of technical equipment used within the semiconductor industry.
This is a field-based technical position and does not involve working directly on a production line. The successful candidate will operate at customer sites, ensuring that installed systems and electronic components function correctly and meet the required technical standards. The role involves working with equipment and systems connected to semiconductor applications, carrying out technical interventions from initial installation and switch-on through to testing and final system acceptance.
The Field Service Technician will also act as a key point of contact while on site, communicating with customers, technical teams, and other collaborators. Customer feedback, technical issues, and intervention results will be reported to the relevant internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot technical systems and components at different customer sites.
- Perform preventive maintenance, driver calibration, thermal calibration, repairs, and system acceptance testing.
- Carry out software, firmware, and hardware updates and verify that site environmental conditions meet technical requirements.
- Coordinate on-site interventions with technical teams and other collaborators to ensure work is completed according to company procedures.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and report customer feedback, system issues, and completed interventions.
Key Requirements:
- Diploma or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical schematics, debugging procedures, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical measurement instruments, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, thermo-hygrometers, and testing JIGs.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Good communication skills and confidence working directly with customers across different field locations.
