The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing prompt onsite service ensuring users of our equipment are satisfied with its performance by performing commissioning, troubleshooting, repair work, and training support on dry ice production equipment, dry ice blasting machines, and engineered systems at customer facilities throughout their region. This role performs technical service repair work on dry ice manufacturing and dry ice blasting equipment throughout Mexico and Latin America.

Position Responsibilities

• Installs, performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots, repairs dry ice manufacturing and dry ice blasting equipment on site with the customer.
• In-depth knowledge of system maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
• Evaluates components for wear and tolerance using precision measuring instruments to determine necessary adjustments or part replacement.
• Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
• Provides support and information to customers by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards and regulations
• Skilled in analyzing schematics, BOMs, and drawings
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Clean driving record

Position Requirements

Education & Experience

• Undergraduate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a technical degree in a related field with on-the-job experience
• Five or more years’ experience in field service working with electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Experience working with integrated equipment controls preferred

• Able and willing to travel 75% of the time, including occasional international trips
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair of industrial machinery
• Ability to read technical drawings & electrical schematics
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic & pneumatic systems
• Resolves customer issues and creates value for both customers and Cold Jet in a professional manner
• Effectively applies technical and logical methodologies to solve problems
• Clear written and verbal communication, computer literate with experience in MS Office, web browsers, ERP & CRM systems, TeamViewer & Google docs
• Able to prioritize critical tasks
• Effectively schedules work load, material and parts needed to complete tasks in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the customer
• Able to manage inventory and to be accountable

Preferred Additional Skill Set

• Knowledge of embedded PLC programming in Structured Text, and HMI development in HTML5
• Solid skills and experience in troubleshooting PLC/HMI programming system
• Identify PLC Symptoms, ability to review programs, trace ladder logic & verify causes.
• Familiar with electrical wiring diagrams and electrical schematics/circuits
• Provide a methodical means of troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Update, develop and maintain PLC-Programs for high-quality Line-Controls on complete Engineered systems for ES and IBS
• Contribute with programming support during site commissioning of ES and IBS projects
• Knowledge Beckhoff TwinCAT (The Windows Control and Automation Technology) suite of automation tools and components for use in industrial control systems.
