This position reports to:

Service Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will perform service activities in accordance with work instructions and ABB quality and safety guidelines. You will ensure excellent customer service on a daily basis by planning service assignments and executing them in line with customer requirements and expectations. Through your clear and professional communication, you will contribute to customer satisfaction and loyalty by providing transparent information regarding schedules, processes, and expectations.

Work model: Field-based

This role is part of the Electrification, Smart Power division in Baden. Your key stakeholders will include customers, field service colleagues, and the internal service coordination team.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Collaborate with customers on-site to identify optimization opportunities and resolve existing challenges
  • Perform service assignments, identify technical issues, and conduct on-site or remote analysis within the service categories and product areas for which you are certified
  • Prepare material lists for service assignments and ensure that all required materials, spare parts, and tools are available, complete, and in proper working condition
  • Provide training to field service colleagues and customers as required

Your qualifications

  • Completed vocational training as an Automation Technician, Electrician, Electrical Installer, Electrical Planner, or a comparable technical qualification
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in automation, electrical engineering, or a related technical field; experience with UPS systems (uninterruptible power supply) is an advantage
  • Solid knowledge of electromechanical systems, diagnostic tools, and service processes in an industrial environment
  • Strong customer focus, flexibility in adapting to changing requirements, and a solution-oriented and collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Fluent German and basic English skills for professional communication with customers
  • Willingness to travel, participate in an on-call rotation, and occasionally work weekends; primary service area: Midlands / Bern region
  • Valid driver's license for assignments within Switzerland
