EnerStar is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician III to join our results driven team. This is a senior level field position for a proven technician who is ready to take the next step toward leadership. You will oversee day-to-day field activities, coordinate crews, mentor developing technicians, and serve as the primary field representative for clients while maintaining EnerStar's high standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

You will work closely with the Field Service Supervisor to support rig moves, new installations, facility setups, rig releases, preventative maintenance, and field repairs. This role is designed for a local candidate or an individual planning to permanently relocate to the area and build a long term career with EnerStar.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead field crews during installations, rig moves, facility setups, rig releases, maintenance activities, and repairs.
  • Serve as the primary field contact for customers while representing EnerStar professionally.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments and provide guidance to Field Service Technicians I and II.
  • Mentor and train technicians on safety procedures, work quality standards, troubleshooting techniques, and customer service expectations.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and client requirements.
  • Conduct jobsite safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices at all times.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and facility-related issues.
  • Perform advanced maintenance, repair, and installation activities.
  • Review completed work for quality and accuracy before project completion.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Field Service Supervisor regarding personnel needs, project status, client concerns, and operational issues.
  • Assist with workforce planning by providing input on technician performance, training needs, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure service tickets, field documentation, inspections, and reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Obtain customer approvals and sign-offs for completed work.
  • Support emergency callouts, after-hours work, and field response activities as required.

Note: Travel to customer locations throughout the region is required. This position is intended for candidates residing in the local area or willing to relocate permanently.

Leadership Responsibilities

This role serves as the senior technician on the crew and is expected to:

  • Lead by example in safety, professionalism, and work quality.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and on-the-job training for less experienced technicians.
  • Assist with onboarding and development of new employees.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate field challenges and solutions effectively to leadership.
  • Help build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 5+ years of field service, oilfield, construction, facilities, maintenance, or related industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, crews, or work teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair abilities across multiple trades.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel and respond to field service needs as required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of mobile devices, field software, and electronic work order systems.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Lead Technician, Crew Lead, Foreman, or Team Lead.
  • Experience supporting oilfield, communications, power generation, facilities, or industrial operations.
  • Familiarity with FieldCap, KPA, BambooHR, or similar systems.
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, H2S, Safeland, PEC, or other industry-recognized certifications.
  • Experience training and developing field personnel.

Job Demands & Work Environment

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and working from ladders.
  • Walking and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated locations when necessary.

Medical Fitness

This is a physically demanding position requiring the ability to work safely in industrial environments and varying weather conditions.

Work Conditions

  • Outdoor work in heat, cold, rain, snow, mud, wind, and changing environmental conditions.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional overnight travel as business needs require.
